Wingspan / sleeve span
Not a universal term. GI Size maps it only when the source clearly shows a flat garment cuff-to-cuff path. Body wingspan and sleeve length are different measurements.
One shared language
How we measure a gi.
Brands use different names for similar measurements. GI Size stores verified metric values and translates each chart into the fields below. A dash means the brand did not publish that measurement.
Jacket length
A garment measurement, normally high-point shoulder/neck seam to hem when the chart shows that path. It should not be confused with body torso length.
Chest width
Usually a flat underarm-to-underarm garment width. It is not automatically a body chest circumference.
Waist width
Usually a flat waistband width. It is not automatically a body waist circumference.
Trouser length
The path must be confirmed: waistband-to-hem, outseam, and inseam are different measurements and are not interchangeable.
Import rule: source garment measurements are never converted into body measurements. A source label or measurement path not covered by the translation matrix requires human review before import. When a label is ambiguous, the field stays blank and the source chart remains linked for review.
